The Building Code of Kenya details the physical aspects required in a building depending on the type of occupancy. The Building Code of Kenya Compliance Audit will assess the adequacy of the Essential Safety Measures installed against the requirements of the building code of Kenya. Further Fire Safety Audits also take into account the building code requirements in terms of a benchmark, and identify specific concerns which may not be detailed in the code. Our fire engineers will identify any non-compliances or specific fire safety risk issues allowing the organisation to rectify them in order to achieve compliance with the requirements of the building code of Kenya or reduce the risks on site. Our fire safety auditors conduct premises inspection to ascertain how fire safety is managed.

Maintenance of Fire Protection Systems and Equipment requires an annual survey to be conducted for specific fire protection systems (eg extinguishers, smoke control systems, occupant warning systems, etc). FEDAN conducts fire survey whereby fire hazards and the risk associated are identified. Fire Design Survey assesses whether the fire protection systems performance capability has been degraded by building or occupancy changes, which could otherwise adversely affect the capability of the system to perform as originally intended. We highlight the consequences of various hazards on people and clarify what safety measures are required and what function they have in relation to the protection of people. This Survey involves a visual inspection, equipment and system testing to identify if fire protection systems, or equipment, have been altered, damaged or compromised.
